Introduction

Preparing, assessing and evaluating learning agreements

Learning objectives are concise statements about what candidates will be able to do when they complete the Candidacy Mentorship Program. These objectives form the basis for your work as a mentor. Well-defined and articulated learning objectives are important because they: provide candidates with a clear purpose to focus their learning efforts; direct your choice of instructional activities; and guide your assessment strategies.

Candidates’ learning objectives should be based on their interests and needs, not yours. Learning objectives must be tied to the Social Work Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.

Candidates use the member portal to submit learning objectives to the College and document their progress.
